UPCA Redevelopment Project

July 1, 2021
When Art and Science meet, one thing that comes into mind is Architecture, and when we think of Architecture, we cannot help but be transported to a place with visions that enthrall, inspire and elevate. As we are all an audience to the vicissitudes of life, Architects cannot help but create structures that will uplift and carry us through the daily jostles of life. Enter, the buildings of Architecture in the campus of U. P. Diliman.
The UP College of Architecture Complex
U.P. Diliman College of Architecture require much-needed repairs and renovation. While the buildings retain the wonderful aesthetic that were borne from the minds of U.P. Alumni Architects’ Danny Silvestre and Nic Del Castillo, it now needs substantial repairs and an aesthetic that will continue to stimulate the fertile minds that will cross its hallowed halls. The children need to aspire to greater heights. We cannot remain ‘small’ when the children want to become ‘big’.
UPCA Site Development Plan
The vision is borne from a desire to pique the minds that want to explore and create. For the advocate to move forward, what they leave behind should provide the proper impetus. It was enough that inspiration was drawn from an earlier schooling in the same college to create a model using barbecue sticks. What was done then has come full circle and now translated to what will be the updated U. P. Arki Buildings 1 and 2.

This effort is a collaboration by four U.P College of Architecture Alumni. Architects’ Edwin Gumila, Jun Benito, Cathy Saldana and Vic Dulloog have contributed to the designs that will house a new generation of aspirants. With confidence, we believe the resources will come in that will allow the vision to be realized. What has been conjured in the mind, will be built…will be used and will allow the continuance of a flourishing profession and industry. Please join us in this worthiest endeavor. Let us build it…and let us see them ‘become’!
