Grand Sierra Pines, designed by UP College of Architecture alumnus Ar. Francis Santaromana (CASA Arkitektura), was awarded as Architecture Honoree in Haligi ng Dangal 2020: Citation of Merit in Architecture and Allied Arts.
From the award-giving body: Grand Sierra Pines pays homage to the unique characteristics of Baguio City’s environment. Addressing natural preservation, the footprints were shaped around existing pine trees creating an asymmetrical massing. With 3 zones that clustered amenities apart, designers used skeletal features such as balconies, corridors and verandas as suspended linking space between buildings, conveying guests to within arm’s reach of surrounding foliage.
